SCB honorably accompanied with Tra Vinh Investment Promotion Conference 2020

On 15/01/2020, at Tra Vinh Provincial Conference Center, Tra Vinh Province, The People’s Committee of Tra Vinh Province co-organized with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Green Economics Institute to hold the Investment Promotion Conference under the auspices of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of Vietnam. Among the attendees of the Conference are Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, municipal party committee secretary of Ho Chi Minh city and more than 600 leaders from ministries; provinces; and economic groups.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that with important location in Mekong delta, Tra Vinh province needs to boost the sea and coastal economics, port development, high-technology agriculture; processing industry; mechanical, ship building industries; logistics; ecological and sea tourism, etc. The Vietnam government will create appropriate policies for Mekong delta in general and Tra Vinh province in particular to mobilize all the resources, improve investment environment, making use of support and cooperation from local and overseas investors.

At the conference, the province granted investment certificates for five projects, worth VND5,300 billion and awarded memorandums of understanding for 17 projects with total funds of VND205,000 billion.

SCB is honored to be the supporter for the event. Currently, SCB is managing the funds of VND200 billion from enterprises to support for the phase 1 of “Green startup in Vietnam”, co-organized by The Institute of Organic Agricultural Economics and Vietnam Cooperative Alliance since 05/2018. This program is to attract young people to establish start-ups, especially young ones in the countryside to settle and development their business in their homelands.

Mr. Le Thanh, Chairman of Green Economics Institute expressed his belief that in to 2050, Tra Ving could become a new urban area closely associated with high-technology agriculture, green economics, and stable development. This province will become a typical area that promote adaptive lifestyle among other provinces in Mekong delta.
