SCB business goes on safely at the time of social distancing

Social distancing measure has been imposed in Ho Chi Minh City within 15 days, starting from 0:00, May 31, 2021. Classified as one of the businesses providing essential services, Sai Gon J.S. Commercial Bank (SCB) is allowed to normally open for the general economic efficiency while following safe work practices.

Leaders of SCB have been bringing a series of measures into play in time concerning the increasingly complicated situation of the epidemic, proactively setting plans to ensure continuous and thoroughly safe banking operations under any circumstances.

Work-from-home measure has been called on to reduce the number of staff at SCB buildings, at the same time automatic body temperature monitoring devices have been placed at the main buildings (Head Offices). Besides, newsletters are constantly sent to the customers, warning about drove of fraudulent acts during the epidemic season, updating daily news on the Covid-19 to the staff so that they are always on guard, calmly and safely carry out their works.

Considering the extent and impact of the epidemic so as to have suitable customer support policies, the bank has been actively offering preferential packages to affected customers as 0.5-1% reduced in interest rates for new loans.

Other special policies have also been applied to reduce or exempt from many transaction fees, including interbank transfers and online payments.

One of the preferential programs is "This season, stay safe with SCB", which was launched from May 27, 2021 until the end of June 23, 2021, available for SCB’s Mastercard/Visa credit cardholders. The program is to give away weekly VND50,000 to a customer who pays at least VND250,000 with SCB credit cards by using food delivery apps (Now, Baemin, Grab) and apps to watch movies online ( Netflix, Galaxy Play, FPT Play).

As an enterprise having been present for a long time in Ho Chi Minh City and always being there for the community, right from the beginning of the fight against Covid-19, together with all our people, SCB has been partnering with local authorities to give assistance to healthcare activities.

On May 27, 2021, SCB donated VND50 billion at a charitable ceremony, launched by The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and The Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in order to call for funds to support the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines.

Prior to this ceremony, at the end of April 2021, SCB's shareholders had also contributed VND20 billion to Ho Chi Minh City's Covid-19 Prevention & Control Fund in response to the movement of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee calling for sharing in buying Covid-19 vaccines.

As our folks always say “Intact leaves protect tattered ones”, SCB has also proved this solidarity spirit by calling on the employees to join in the donation for "Share with Bac Ninh, Bac Giang", a charitable movement for the 02 provinces to fight against the current outbreak.
