SCB wins 3 international awards

Recently, Sai Gon J.S. Commercial Bank (SCB) was continuously the recipient of three awards from prestigious international financial magazines, which were “Best Banking Technology Vietnam 2021” from The European Magazine, “Best CSR Bank Vietnam 2021” from International Business Magazine and “Best Commercial Bank Vietnam 2021” from World Finance Magazine.

Accolades from as such prove trust among enterprises, financial institutions and customers, for these are globally popular magazines in the fields of banking and finance, providing in-depth journal analysis of financial markets, international trade and world economy.

These awards also recognized SCB as one of the pioneering retail banks in Vietnam for the creativity in development strategy, bringing in all-round products suitable for diverse needs, as well focusing on providing services with outstanding quality and plowing in modern banking technology.

With great determination to overcome the impact of Covid-19 epidemic on the market, SCB brought a series of measures into play in time during the social distancing to ensure thoroughly continuous and expeditious banking operations and services. Technology-driven services were beefed up like mobile banking, internet banking, automatic bill payment, online credit card debt payment, online savings, etc. Furthermore, customers can make deposits, trade currencies and perform international payment via emails, saving their time and travel costs, with no worries for the secure authentication, confidentiality and speedy process of the system.

Wanting to share the burden with affected customers at the time of the outbreak, the bank has offered many preferential policies by applying softer annual lending rates only from 6.5% to 6.99% for new borrowers, 5% down for lending rates in the first 06 months of loan term, 50% discount on interbank and interbranch transfer fees on internet banking, 10% reduced for charges on international payments, to name a few.

The bank keeps on shining the beautiful light of the sharing and loving spirit by the sense of responsibility to the society, helping the disadvantaged and less fortunate. Over the years, SCB has been an untiring advocate for many charitable activities, pitching in social security programs, such as blood donation, support for poor people, priority families and student assistance funds, etc. in locals within the bank’s network.

In 2021, SCB has hitherto contributed some VND53 billion to Covid-19 prevention campaigns and charitable events, in which, VND50 billion was donated to a fund launched by The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and The Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, calling for support the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines. Besides, the bank gave away 20 Covid testing buses to the Ministry of Health, 05 vaccination buses served in Hai Phong city, as well as food and medical supplies to many locals across the country.

SCB's shareholders also contributed VND20 billion to Ho Chi Minh City's Covid-19 Prevention & Control Fund in response to the movement promulgated by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in sharing the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines.

Never leaving behind the employees, SCB imparted welfare policies on internal vaccination, regular rapid testing and workplace disinfection, not least paying visits to console and supply food to the infected ones. The bank has lately won the title “Best companies to work for in Asia 2021”, an award given by HR Asia, the most authoritative publication in Asia for HR professionals, based on clinical surveys and judgments.
