SCB is honored for “Outstanding Products & Services Ho Chi Minh City 2021”

Sai Gon J.S. Commercial Bank (SCB) was honored to receive the title of “Outstanding Products & Services Ho Chi Minh City 2021” by the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA).

On December 20, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, HUBA held a ceremony to announce “Outstanding Products & Services Ho Chi Minh City 2021” and an exhibition honoring Vietnamese goods in 2021. Those are HUBA’s regular activities held every 2 years, in responding to the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritise using Vietnamese goods".

This year is the 3rd time of the event, with the purpose of discovering and introducing outstanding and potential products and services. In addition, the event was meant to empower enterprises and entrepreneurs to overcome challenges, contributing significantly to the economic recovery program of Ho Chi Minh City. After 3 months of evaluation, the organizers picked out 123 outstanding products and services from 96 enterprises, including 86 products, 29 services and 8 properties.

To achieve this title, SCB excellently met the criteria set by HUBA in revenue, profit, digital-based products and services, awards and achievements since 2015 – 2021, etc. The title manifested SCB’s efforts and strivings in bringing about excellent products and services, especially during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

Amidst negative impacts of the outbreak, SCB provided support to customers and businesses by launching many preferential service programs, such as: “Online deposit - Instant offers” with attractive interest rates compared to the interest rates on term deposits at the counters or “Online transactions - Joining hands for public health” contributing to fight against the infectious outbreak, ensuring health of customers and employees. The bank also introduced online banking system at ebanking.scb.com.vn, reducing transfer fees up to 50%, encouraging customers to use online products and services.

In the third quarter of 2021, SCB continued to apply many preferential programs of loan interest, exemption and reduction of interest and fees to support customers suffered from pandemic: introducing new loan packages to individuals and organizations with preferential interest rates of only 6.5%/year - 6.99%/year; reducing lending interest rates by 0.5% in the first 6 months; discounting 50% on interbank and interbranch transfer fees via Internet Banking and 10% discount on international payment fees, etc.

According to the organizers, to receive this title, enterprises not only have to meet strict criteria in terms of revenue and profit, but also demonstrate a sense of social responsibility with significant contribution to the community, strictly applying measures to prevent the pandemic, implementing "three-on-the-spot" solution for on-site working to maintain continuous operation and production during the outbreak.

Since early 2021, in the context of socio-economic difficulties in Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City due to the Covid-19 pandemic, SCB has organized many meaningful social community programs, contributing more than VND270 billion for the the pandemic preventing campaigns, specifically, to such campaign organizers as well as to meaningful voluntary activities for the sake of people in need. Most recently, SCB has just contributed VND10 billion to the Fund “For the Poor”, following the call of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee that everyone can enjoy the celebration of the Tiger New Year 2022.
