
eBanking services are banking services provided to customers via electronic channels such as the internet or mobile communication networks. With these services, customers can use their phones, computers, or other smart devices to check account information or conduct banking transactions
To help ensure that your bank account information remains safe and secure when transacting through electronic means, SCB would like to share the following key DOs and DON’Ts when using eBanking services
DOs:
1. Manually enter the bank’s website address into your browser when accessing Internet Banking, and/or download the official SCB Mobile Banking app only from the official app stores (iOS/Android). Do not access or download applications from links sent via email, SMS, or untrusted websites.
2. Create a strong password in accordance with the bank’s security requirements, and change it at least once every three months, or immediately if it is disclosed or suspected to be compromised.
3. Install and maintain antivirus software on personal devices used for eBanking transactions.
4. Log out from the eBanking application when not in use.
5. Register for SMS notifications for account and card balance changes to quickly detect any suspicious transactions.
6. Read and follow the Safe Transaction Guidelines provided on SCB’s website to ensure secure and proper use of eBanking and card services.
DON’Ts:
1. DO NOT provide your username, password to access eBanking services, OTP. DO NOT share card information storage devices, PIN codes with anyone in any form (phone, email, Facebook, etc.).
2. DO NOT provide personal information related to your account or eBanking services upon any request, including: full name, ID number (Citizen ID/Passport/etc.), account number, registered email address, registered phone number, or message content, etc.
3. DO NOT access untrusted websites or enter personal or eBanking information on any unofficial website or application.
4. DO NOT use public Wi-Fi networks or save your login credentials on shared devices or public computers.
5. DO NOT install any unverified or unlicensed software or browser extensions. Remove any unknown or suspicious extensions from your browser.
6. DO NOT use jailbroken or rooted mobile devices to download or access eBanking services (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking) or OTP-generating applications.
Remember: Always follow security principles to protect your personal information and financial assets when using eBanking services
